Dear Santa -- We Need More Contest Entries!

Happy holidays! Today is my last working day before heading into the holidays and then a week-long vacation next week. I'm ready for the break.

But before I go...

img-wiy-landing-contest.jpg I spent some time this morning checking out the stories submitted so far to the Intel What's Inside You contest. When I last posted about the contest, "Triple Booting" and "Putting the Band Back Together" were neck and neck for the most community votes. Now we have a new set of top 5 stories and they're great! I encourage you to check them out and I'm listing the top 5 here. And remember, the community voting determines the top 10 entries, which are then judged by a panel of esteemed judges who ultimately determine the winners of the grand, first and second prizes! And these prizes are pretty cool if I must say so... regardless of what place you get, you're getting a new PC - either an Intel Centrino 2 laptop or an Intel Atom-based netbook.

Here are the top 5 stories so far - what's your favorite? Or if your favorite hasn't made it into the top 5 yet, go VOTE!

  1. Triple Booting
  2. Student Designer
  3. School Results
  4. Digital Expression
  5. Beautiful as blown glass, made from family photos

Here's the other thing that I found to be shocking when I checked the contest stories this morning. There are only 25 stories submitted! The odds of winning right now are pretty good! Come on people - submit your story. The prizes are amazing and require very little effort. Be sure to check the rules (remember the contest is only open to U.S. residents aged 18 and older) first and then just tell us how you use your Intel-based PC to do something amazing. At a minimum, the first 100 qualified submissions get a t-shirt. Get your story in before the January 15, 2009 deadline!

And of course, we're looking for feedback on the contest, too. Are you having trouble submitting or viewing the site? Any other comments about it, please share them with us.

Enjoy the holidays!

Hi Hannah -- Let me look into whether we received your submission. Each submission is reviewed before posting to ensure that it meets the contest guidelines, so it may be that its going through that review right now. I'll get back to you.

Hannah - We haven't received a story submission under your name or email address. Did you submit it under a different name/email?
