Hi, I've actually been having problems submitting my story. I've actually tried submitting twice, the first time being 2 weeks ago, and it never went through.

Hi Grant - I am terribly sorry to hear this. Can you describe your problem in more detail so we can do our best to troubleshoot and get you into the contest? I will contact you via email...

Thank you for taking the time to provide this information.

My submission had trouble too. I uploaded my entry the last night of the contest and it finished with 5 minutes to spare before the 11:59pm deadline but the page I was sent to was not exactly what I expected. The page said "Thank you. Your story has been submitted Successfully." but it seemed to have skipped several steps of the process. It didn't give me an option to set my profile password or review my submission like the text at the top of the submission page said it would. I tried to get a password by using the forgot password form, but it returns a no account found error. I spent a lot of time on my video entry and I hope it gets posted on the site before judging is over. I submitted a help ticket about my account that night but I have yet to hear back.

I would really like to share what I've created on my Intel PC. If you watch my video over on youtube- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqHdxdaJLbY I think you'll agree its a worthy contest entry.

Thank you, Matthew and Grant. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to duplicate the Firefox errors that you are reporting. I don't know what the issue is. Grant's submission was successfully entered before the submission period ended and Matthew's submission came in a little late but is published. Without some indication that the submission was entered before Jan 15 deadline, I just couldn't allow it to be entered into the Contest. However, all this being said, from my standpoint, I am so excited to see the fantastic submissions being entered into the Contest. This was the first Contest we've hosted in this manner and we are reviewing ways to introduce another Contest sometime in the future. This blog is a great place to stay attuned to our plans moving forward. We hope you stay in touch!

That's a shame. I figured out why it didn't work. I let the session expire. I was about to upload it when I found an error in my video file and the page sat open while I compiled my video again. If you want a proof I tried, have a look at http://crocodolljr.googlepages.com/print_badsubmission.pdf I printed it as soon as realized something didn't go right.

To reproduce my issue- let the entry submission page sit open for a while, like 1 hour+ while not visiting any other pages on intel's site in different windows or tabs. Then click submit. it will skip steps and doesn't show a session timeout error.
the faster way to reproduce it is to load the contest entry submission page and then delete all the browser cookies. The same thing I experienced that night happens and could have happened to anyone who spent a long time filling out the contest entry page.

oooooh! I hadn't considered that this might be causing the problem. Yes, our session is set to expire after 1 hours time has passed. We should look into better ways to communicate this and provide appropriate error messaging. Thank you so much for troubleshooting and finding the problem!! I've emailed you for more information... While I can't enter you into the Contest, I would like to at the least give you a free Contest t-shirt. Thank you again.
