The Inauguration in a Digital World

Next weeks inauguration of President Elect Barack Obama is getting major attention. With a historic milestone of the first African America President, it's not surprising that tickets to the inauguration festivities are going for thousands of dollars on sites like ebay and stubhub.

Besides the fact that I don't live anywhere near D.C. or have an extra $7,500 to drop on inauguration tickets, by law the inauguration must take place on January 20th at 12pm EST. Like other west-coasters, I'll be in the middle of my morning coffee and banana at my desk in my cubie while President Obama is being sworn in. Solution? Turn to technology! Since the last inauguration, technology has improved by leaps and bounds and now allows us to be front and center for all the big events.

A number of online outlets will be broadcasting the inauguration live including CNN, CSPAN, FOX, ABC, MSNBC and CBS. Hulu.com (see below) will not only be broadcasting live but will also have the Inaguration on demand so you can watch it anytime or just when you're not supposed to be working!
