Vote, Help Us Write a Letter to President-Elect Obama's Future CTO
During the recent election, the power of technology, in particular social media and online communities, was apparent to many. It was exciting for me to see how social media and the Internet could change the way we learn about and participate in the political process.
I was also encouraged to learn that President-Elect Obama plans to elect the country's first chief technology officer (CTO), which I hope will continue to enhance and encourage technology innovation both here in the U.S. and around the world.
On his technology web page Obama says, "I'm asking you to believe. Not just in my ability to bring about real change in Washington...I'm asking you to believe in yours."
In this spirit, Intel CTO Justin Rattner is asking you to lend your voice to his effort to inform Washington decision-makers and the incoming CTO about what we - tech consumers, decision makers and industry players - think should be the top areas of focus in the technology arena.Today in his blog, Rattner announced a survey from Intel that will be available online for the next week where you can provide your input for the new CTO in Obama's administration in the areas of technology and education, the environment, healthcare and broadband Internet access. He will then incorporate the survey results and input from other U.S. industry CTOs into a letter to the incoming U.S. CTO.
So...get out the tech vote and let your voice be heard!Post Your Comment

CNet posted on the pending CTO appointment yesterday. Check it out here: http://news.cnet.com/8301-13578_3-10133029-38.html. Based on this report, seems as though there are still a lot of unknowns around when the CTO will be appointed, who it will be (tho the story speculates) and what exactly the CTO will focus on. Sounds like there's a good opportunity to make our voices heard!
