Chris Brogan interacts with a MID @ SxSW

Check out Brogan's review of MIDS (Mobile Internet Devices) at SXSW 2009. He's hangin' with Intel friends Bryan Rhoads, Jeff Moriarty, and Steve "Chippy" Paine from MIDMoves.com. Filmed by the man, the myth, the legend, Ken Kaplan.  My favorite quote ... "You can fit this in your pocket; it's like a wrench."

This was a fun video to shoot during the crazy, inspiring South by Southwest gathering in Austin. It was a perfect place to get feedback on the growing collection of Mobile Internet Devices available to consumers in places like Italy, Taiwan, France and the U.S.

Intel Atom experts -- that tiny, mighty, energy efficient processor -- have been working with developers for years. Now it's fascinating to put these devices into the hands of social media creators like Chris Brogan www.chrisbrogan.com.

At SXSW we learned what are the must-have features and capabilities to make these devices super interesting to people who love snacking and sharing on the Internet while on the go.

Most people liked the smallness mixed with the "full computer" and "full Internet" experience. Most said they would thumb, not use their fingers, to type on the keypads. They also wanted the ability to watch videos, capture and stream their own videos from the devices...and of course, the got fired up when they hear that some are using WiMAX as well as 3G and Wi-Fi to connect wireless to the Internet.

Most agreed that these were not all-in-one devices, but rather they could be reliable and capable enough to do the Internet essentials while on the go and away from their laptop or home/office computer.

I'm looking forward to seeing the full collection of MIDs from around the world at the Intel Developer Forum the fall in San Francisco.
