Live from the Outlands Intel Dance Party......is Intel cool again?

Yeah, you heard it.  Intel Dance Party!  Imprumptu, but a dance party none-the-less.

I got asked to come out to the Outsidelands in San Francisco @ Golden Gate Park to cover our Intel Dome and get a good look at the over 100 bands during the 3 day concert.

"Sure, why not?"

Let's say I was a little suprised upon arriving.  The Intel Dome is a monster tent near the main venue stage, filled with an O2 bar, free drinks, augmented reality demos, live DJ, even inviting some of the attendees behind the DJ booth to do a little scratching of their own.

The huge LED screens inside the dome boardcast live from the main stage, and yesterday we were packed with all sorts of concert goers; dancing to the music, taking advantage of a comfortable seat in the lounge with a cool drink, or just getting a good seat for the next stage performer.  But if you're not belly up to the stage, the Intel Dome is the place to be.  Intel hasn't exactly had a 'hip' reputation, we've been more akin to square parents who bust your slumber party.  But after taking a look at our presence here in Outsidelands, I have to consider......is Intel getting cool again?

Makes me feel good to be an Intel cat.  But as hip as the Dome is, I'm here to cover the bands.  The venue here at Golden Gate Park is soooooooo huge, as you run to see a band, you'll be missing another at the opposite end of the park.  1st Day included the musical stylings of Incubus, Q-Tip, Tom Jones, Theivery Corporation, and Pearl Jam (just to highlight a few), and it's only getting better as the weekend goes on.  Jason Miraz, Black Eyed Peas (mmmmmmmmm......Fergie...), and Dave Mathews Band set the line up for Day 2, so come on down if you get a chance.  It's going to be a great one.

We'll be here bloggin' from the show all weekend, so check back in with us, as I'm going to have some celeb interviews later today as they come by the Dome here at the event (psst.  It's a secret.).  My my main goal for this event.......Jack Black live interview with Tenacious D!  Now I just have to figure how to make that happen.......stay tuned!
