What's your big idea?
That was one of the questions posed to IDF attendees at this years event. Giant white boards placed throughout the Moscone center in San Francisco along with Intel blue markers allowed everyone to share their thoughts about the future of technology and innovation.
Some of my personal favorites that made it up on the white board include "hover boots" and "wireless electricity".Post Your Comment

Hi Kiesha,
You'll be pleased to know that there are already at least 3 companies, Wipower, WiTricity and eCoupled, that are working on wireless electricity. And it sure is pretty cool!
Now, what I'd really like is a self-cleaning coffee mug to use at school/work, in the absence of a kitchen/breakroom. Would certainly make it easier avoiding that disposable unrecyclable paper cup. Turns out that somebody is working on that too!

I'm going with the "wireless electricity" idea- seemingly Nokia are well into the R&D stages of being able to recharge your mobile constantly via radio waves. Doubt if we will be seeing it soon though!

Ok, so it's not exactly a new idea but i'd love to see computers with an A.I. of their own, not so much to talk to you or be an interface like the dog and paperclip of Word but to do menial tasks like disc clean-up and defrag when needed. Instead of getting a message that a new update for the computer is available you'd get a message saying the computer would like to "proactively engage in a clean-up initiative, both freeing up space and speeding up your computer".
Also, whoever came up with the "Doodle Twitter" idea should talk to Nintendo. Their portable DS system already has the perfect setup to do said doodling, its just a matter of hooking the DS up to the internet instead of its own network.
Good luck!

Intel is actually working on "wireless power" as well. It's pretty cool to see in person but you can see it here as well
