Marcia Hansen

As Editor of Inside Scoop, Marcia has responsibility for the content and conversations you find on Inside Scoop. She joined Intel in July 2010 as a social media marketing manager with the Digital Marketing group and manages consumer and corporate social media projects.

Prior to working at Intel, Marcia was at Allstate Insurance where she pioneered their use of social media, including hosting a weekly Internet radio show featuring car and driving tips for women. She is an active participant in the social media space and at face-to-face events where she speaks and leads workshops on social media topics.

Marcia holds an M.A. from the University of Missouri where she completed a thesis on digital literacies and her research interests spanned network rhetorics, new media/digital composition, and how teachers and students can use social technologies for learning. She's passionate about how people use new technologies to communicate and share parts of their identities online, as well as how companies use social technologies to communicate with consumers.

Previously, Marcia worked for Southern Methodist University, Verizon.com, and was once one of five interns to design and develop GTE's first integrated HR Intranet.

You can connect with Marcia Hansen on Twitter, at m2h blogs, or on Facebook. When she has time off, she likes to explore new places on her Honda Shadow 1100 and take pictures to post to her Flickr photostream. Ever curious, Marcia's goal is to see and experience as much of the world as possible.
