Tonight in San Francisco, cutting edge fashion designers and technology innovators are teaming up to give people a people a peek into the future of retail shopping.
Several select clothing designers being showcased at Ubergizmo’s second [Digital Summer](http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/archives/2010/08/digital_summer_-_aug_25_temple_sf.html) event will have their shirts, pants, dresses and accessories inside a new, smart digital retail kiosk that could someday change the way we shop for clothes in our favorite retail stores.

This is [Intel's proof-of-concept point-of-sale digital sign ](http://www.intel.com/pressroom/archive/releases/2009/20090112comp_sm.htm)aimed at showing how Intel technology can enhance the retail shopping experience. This is an amazing innovation by [Intel's Embedded technology](http://www.intel.com/pressroom/kits/embedded/) team, which is a sponsor of the Digital Summer event.
Imagine being able to walk into a store, have a digital concierge greet you and help you find the right clothes in your size. Connected to the Internet, this digital sign lets you find things fast, save searches to your mobile phone and even place an order and have it shipped to a your home or to a friend.
This could be a great way for fashion designers to team up with retails outlets to help people like me get more out of our in-store shopping experience.

Intel is known for being the brains inside our computers, but we’re seeing [Intel inside new places](http://edc.intel.com/Amazing-Places/), putting amazing computer and Internet capabilities inside cars, digital signage, home appliances and more.
