Innovation at the Heart of Cinequest Film Festival
Intel is sponsoring the 20th Anniversary of [Cinequest Film Festival ](http://www.cinequest.org/)from February 23 to March 7, 2010 in San Jose, California. Cinequest celebrates the mavericks and innovators in the movie making industry, and this year will welcome 85,000 film lovers, students and artists to over 250 screenings and events from 45 countries.

This is the fourth consecutive year Intel has sponsored Cinequest, celebrating the use of technology in art of visual storytelling. I’ve been able to attend over the years and highlight Intel’s participation with event:
- 2008 [Discover Movie Maverics @ Cineqeust Festival](http://blogs.intel.com/technology/2008/02/cinequest.php)
- 2009 [What's Next in the World of Moviemaking?](http://scoop.intel.com/2009/02/cinequest—-festival-of-filmmaking-creativity-and-technology.php)
Lots of people inside Intel are talking the [THE REAL REVOLUTIONARIES](http://www.cinequest.org/event_view.php?eid=1391), which got its world premiere on Thursday, February 25 and its second run on the 27th. It’s a story of the “[Fairchild Eight](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traitorous_Eight),” including Intel co-founders [Robert Noyce](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Noyce) and [Goron Moore](http://www.intel.com/technology/mooreslaw/), the original Intel Silicon Valley rock starts from the 1960s and ’70s.
This year, Intel will help lead a panel discussion on the rising trend of [3-D Cinema](http://www.cinequest.org/event_view.php?eid=1463) and entertainment on Saturday, February 27th. This is the forum I’m planning to attend. 3-D has become more and more a reality thanks to animations like Monsters vs. Aliens, Avatar and new [3-D games](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMdeA59A9WA), TVs and environments shown at the 2010 [Consumer Electronics Show](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73CGOjkwKdQ).
Here’s a good 3-D primer from [Rocketboom Tech](http://www.rocketboom.com/category/tech/), a series on innovation and innovators sponsored by Intel.
We’ll be sharing photos from the event on this [Cinequest 2010](http://www.flickr.com/photos/intelphotos/sets/72157623516982436/) photo set.
