Intel Extreme Masters @ Comic Con NYC
We have brought the show to the Big Apple, Intel Extreme Masters Global Challenge is packing in the crowds here at Comic Con. Gaming enthusiasts from all over NYC and the world have converged on the Intel Tournament Arena to watch the best eSports professionals compete for $93,000 in prize money. League of Legends, Starcraft II and Counter Strike 1.6 matches run throughout today, Saturday and Sunday (Oct 14~16) with matches being shown on the humungous screen in the center of the tournament arena. For a complete rundown of the various matches and matchups visit the Extreme Masters website hosted by ESL.
As at every Intel Extreme Masters we have the Intel Consumer Showcase which hosts the most popular games available, we have League of Legends, Starcraft II, TrackMania and many, many more all running on the game changing Intel Core i7 processor. We are also featuring the Razer Hydra game controllers, people can try out these unique new controllers while playing Portal 2 in 3D!! We also are running our own tournaments here in the Intel Consumer Showcase where we have Unreal Tournament III as well as the iRacing.com fastest lap competition, the winner in these two contests receives a Core i7 Extreme processor.
We are also featuring a demonstration of Intel’s Wireless Display Technology, WiDi, as well as showing off our new Intel Insider service. Intel Insider comes standard on every new 2nd generation Intel Core processor with built in visuals laptop and gives you access to full HD movies on CinemaNow.com. You can download movies to your PC, in full 1080p resolution, on the same day the DVD is released, notice I said download, not stream, you can either rent or purchase a movie. If you purchase you can watch it anytime and as many time as you like, remember, you own it. So now that you have all these new movies downloaded to your laptop, you can take them with you anywhere you go and with Intel’s Wireless Display Technology, you can wirelessly send them to your TV (or any HD TV for that matter), watch them at home or, if you are on the road a lot, watch them on the HD TV in your hotel room as long as you have the wireless display adapter. Really cool technology!
The crowds here at Comic Con are a bit different than what I typically see at our other Intel Extreme Master events. Lot and lots of cosplay happening, people dressing up as their favorite super hero or game character (I’ve seen a number of Super Mario’s and Luigi’s) with some really elaborate and creative costumes, we even had a group of super hero’s singing, too funny! We have some photos posted up on our Flickr page so take a few minutes to have a look. Also, you can play our pop culture trivia contest on Twitter @IntelEdge, the prize is a PC powered by a 2nd generation Intel Core processor, play, it’s fun!
So enough about Intel Extreme Masters, lets talk about me :-) I haven’t had that exceptional meal yet here in NYC but I still have time so be sure to read my next blog post to see if I fulfill my quest for the perfect steak…
