Intel Extreme Masters is headed for New York City

After a one year absence Intel Extreme Masters is returning to Comic-Con in New York City October 10th through October 13th. Twenty eight of the best  StarCraft II players from around the world are coming to compete head to head in our StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm World Championship Series where $25,000 in overall prize money will be up for grabs. The competition will take place in three stages over the course of 4 days, for an in depth view of the competition and how the brackets break down visit the Intel Extreme Masters web site for details.

We will have our Consumer Zone at Comic Con as well and we’ve added some pretty cool stuff to the zone. We will have the usual array of games for people to play powered by the latest 4th Generation Intel processors. We have some new additions as well; Battlefield 3 running on new Intel Core i7 4770K systems with dual nVidia Titan graphics cards with ASUS 4K monitors. You will be able to try out the Oculus Rift virtual goggles, (these things are going to revolutionize gaming) plus we have a really cool gaming table from Ideum. Of course we will have our daily ShootMania and fast lap competitions where we give away a new Core i7 processor to the winners so here’s your chance to score big.

A new feature we’ve added the year to our Consumer Zone is what we refer to as the “petting zoo”. We have an area set apart with the latest Ultrabook 2-in-1’s, All-in-One computers and tablets that our visitors can touch, feel and experience. And this being Comic Con, we will have the new Intel Core i7 powered Wacom Cintiq Companion artist tablet so if you are an artist be sure to come by and check it out.

I’m really looking forward to IEM at Comic Con, this is going to be a fun event, not only the excitement of IEM but the show in general, lots of stuff happening throughout the show, cosplay will be a big part of the fun so I will have my camera at the ready, hope to see you there!

I just logged on a bit late, and saw TLO awarded an amazingly thin and powerful laptop! Can you give me the brand and model number of it? The Intel presenter gave a quick run down of it’s specs and it sounded amazing. Would love to read a story about them.
