Intel Extreme Masters, Singapore Style

It’s our first time in Singapore with Intel Extreme Masters and it’s been a resounding success. SITEX 2012 is the venue and the crowds have been big. For the majority of attendees Intel Extreme Masters is their first exposure to E-Sports and professional gaming, the crowds have been engaged and enthusiastic.

SITEX 2012 is turning out to be quite the showcase for Intel inspired Ultrabooks, all the major manufacturers are here. Samsung, Acer, ASUS, Lenovo, HP, Toshiba and Dell are showing off their latest models including the sleek and sexy convertible models that offer touch screens and easily transform from laptop to tablet.

In our Consumer Experience area we are showing off two new UltraBook models from Toshiba, the U920T UltraBook Convertible featuring Windows 8 with touch screen and the U940 clamshell style Ultrabook with Windows 8… sexy! We are also demonstrating gaming on Ultrabook, show attendees are getting to experience first-hand the power of Intel’s HD4000 integrated graphics. The game we are showcasing is Blackfoot Blade, one of several new games developed specifically for UltraBooks with touch screen.

With all the attention Ultrabooks are getting I can’t forget the primary reason we are here in Singapore, the League of Legends and StarCraft II tournament. Saturday showcased the League of Legends finals with the Polish team, MeetYourMakers, defeating America’s Absolute Legends taking home the title and $15,500 prize as well as earning their way to the World Championships at CeBIT, 2013. StarCraft II finals will take place on Sunday the 25th, you can check out the competition on ESL’s Intel Extreme Masters website.

We are heading into our last day here at SITEX 2012 which means we tear it all down and head for Poland in January, I’ll post information on the Poland stop as we get closer to the event and I’ll post a wrap up on Intel Extreme Masters here in Singapore in the near future so be sure to check back.
