Intel’s social media advisory program, dubbed the Intel Insiders, is now in its second year.
For the past few months we’ve collected feedback from our original Insiders and attended social media events searching for new people who could help us grow our advisory program.
We’re excited to have five new inspiring, talented people join six of our orginal Insiders. Our new Insiders are:

The Traveling Geeks have hit their stride in the UK, where they’ve been meeting with movers and shakers turning to technology innovation as a way for improving start up businesses, education and government agencies.
On Monday, they met with my colleagues Perveen Akhtar and Tristan Wilkinson, Intel’s Public Sector director working to help the UK government leap ahead with its plans to bring better broadband to residents across the country. Here Tristan talks with Intel Insider and Traveling Geek JD Lasica.
Sure it’s nice and sunny these days in the San Francisco Bay Area, but almost everyone I know has been bitten by the travel bug.
If the UK is one place you’re thinking about, then check out the Traveling Geeks, as dozen bloggers meet technology innovators, startup companies, educators and online networking enthusiasts from London and Cambridge to share best practices for online communication.
The Geeks are in the UK from July 5-11, and Intel is co-sponsoring the trip as an extension of the Intel Insiders program.
$80,000 in prizes are up for grabs.
When gamers get together - great things happen! I’m going to give this site a shot and try my best to frag some of the finest in gaming… that’s right, I’m going to be online - hoping to get some frags!!! Destructoid has brought back Friday Night Fights!

The games are ON, and the competition starts Friday July 3rd (here in the US) I’ve never tried Quake Live - so this should be fun!
Although, I’m not doing very well on the “Cosmic Cannon” game… (no laughs please!)
You can find more data on Friday Night Fights using Twitter #fnf hash tags, or even add @Dtoid into your favorite Twitter apps… plus you can add @Toadster too if you want (I’m pretty chatty lately about technology!)
In the words of Duke Nukem… COME GET SOME!
Two steps forward and a half step back to see if we’re going in the right direction and bringing forward things that can help us leap into tomorrow. That’s how we’re celebrating the June 24 anniversary of our Intel Insiders social media adviser program.
Last year, my Global Communications teammates agreed that we’d benefit from fresh advice from people who are doing great things in the quickly advancing area of social media. We wanted to get more involved with the inspiration, talent and know-how we saw driving people to communicate and share experiences and knowledge online.
So we pulled together some long time acquaintances, invited a few new friends we admired and created the Intel Insiders.
Wow, lots of new innovations on being unveiled at Computex in Taipei during the first few days. I’ve been keeping my eyes on a few people there on the scene, and from there branching out to see the reaction from gadget lovers who aren’t at the show (like me).

Gizmodo’s Adrian Covert hit early with “Intel unleashed a flurry of new processors at Computex, including the T9900 Core 2 Duo, which clocks in at a speedy 3.06 GHz—the first Penryn-based Core 2 Duo chip to do so.” and Ubergizmo gave their take, “Intel Makes Mobile More Mobile @ Computex.”

Many eyes are turning to Taipei for this week’s Computex, the largest IT trade show in Asia that runs from June 2-6.
Every year, this is where new mobile technologies are unveiled, and this year I’m looking for the latest in laptops, netbooks, mobile Internet devices and WiMAX.
Here are a few Intel-related things I’ve seen blogged about prior to the show:

A week prior to getting Intel Insiders inside the Intel WiMAX labs in Hillsboro, Oregon, Rocketboom's Ellie Rountree took time during her Great Northwest visit to get a more in-depth, inside-the-labs experience of what WiMAX really is, how it works and why they call it 4G.
Tomorrow and Friday, I'll be joining a handful of Intel Insiders to get an insider's, hands-on look at the Intel innovation engines rockin' in Oregon.
Tom Foremski shared his excitement about the trip this week, as did the Portland Social Media Club, which will join us for a Thursday evening Tweetup at the legendary Green Dragon.
In addition to visiting Intel's Fab 20, and the healthcare, My Wi-Fi and WiMAX labs, we're also taking the opportunity to have the Intel Insiders meet with our Intel's Center of Excellence and Software & Services Group, two groups pionnering Intel's social media efforts.
We'll be sharing the experience through @intel, and we'll share some videos and photos here on the Inside Scoop, Intel Fan page in Facebook and Channel Intel on YouTube.
A posse of Intel employees representing Arizona, California and Oregon are heading to the South by Southwest Interact festival from March 13-17.
We’ll be packin’ 15 new Mobile Internet Devices (MID), each powered by the tiny, might Intel Atom processor. If the wireless Gods are kind enough, three of the MIDs will be connected to the Internet through 3G while the others will tap into Wi-Fi available around downtown Austin, TX.
We’ll be there meeting with developers, mobile gadget experts like MIDmoves and many of the talented Intel Insiders like Frank Gruber, Brian Solis, Irina Slutsky, Sarah Austin and hopefully iJustin.
This past weekend I was able to upgrade my home PC with the latest in Intel hardware - wow I love this stuff!
Motherboard: Intel DX58SO (Smackover) - cool demo
Processor: Intel Core i7 965 Extreme Processor (3.2GHz)
SSD: Intel X25-M (80GB) Solid State Drive (SSD)
Tomorrow at 11:59:00 EST, the What's Inside You Contest will be closing down voting. Right now, there are a total of 48 entries into the Contest.
We had some reports of website issues which prevented some entries from being successfully entered into the Contest. If you experienced this issue, please accept my sincere apologies. Our team did everything we could do and we have not been able to reproduce the problem. Without reproducing the issue, it's difficult to fix it!
[UPDATE] Looks like many of the issues were related to session timeout errors. If you were in the middle of entering a submission and left your form open for more than 1 hour, the website did not offer an error message of any kind. Submissions were lost. We will work to correct this issue in the future.
Uday points out many of the bells of whistles on the mobile device. He explains how the sleak device is powered by a tiny, might Intel Atom processor, allowing the OQO to play HD and do the things you like doing on PC.tagged: ces09, intelatom, intelinsiders, intelces09, mid, mobileinternetdevice, oqo, sarahaustin, techku
So small and super sleek that Intel Insider Brian Solis had to see it…touch it…capture it with his signature photographic style. I caught him in the act!
If you're like me, you're trying to stay on top of what's happening at CES right now from your cube in the office. Somehow its just not quite the same as being in the middle of the action in Vegas.
Fortunately, though, I can get the latest on so many of the cool gadgets and technology on display at CES online -- real time!
Video blogger extraordinaire and Intel Insider Sarah Austin (check her out on Pop17) is live-casting straight from the floor of CES at the Intel booth starting today through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Techku via Mogulus. And what's especially cool is that she'll be doing some of her broadcasting over Clear, 4G WiMAX network!
Check it out!
I arrived in Las Vegas this afternoon and swiftly got registered and headed to the Intel booth, where I was greeted by swarms of people ready to get CES underway.
I hung out with Intel Insider Sarah Austin and her crew setting up inside the Intel both, prepping for the launch of her new 24/7 tech videocast channel on Mogulus called Techku.
After meeting Intel Insider JD Lasica a few weeks ago in San Francisco, I asked him what he was most interested in seeing happen at the Consumer Electronics Show 2009 in Las Vegas.
In his post Behold the Coming Cinematic Internet, Lasica shared a healthy perspective on the past and present challenges of getting television and Internet to move beyond the dating stage and into a deep, loving relationship inside our living rooms.
Here is a quick recap of the Ubergizmo party in San Francisco last night. In case you are wondering, Intel and Federated Media sponsored the event, hence the reason I was there rubbing elbows with the important people.
We - meaning Intel - had small table with a bunch of Netbooks, Centrino 2 laptops, MIDS and a brand-spanken-new Dell XPS powered by the Core i7. I also met and interviewed some really cool peeps -- Patrick Haynes, Director of Photography for Podtech; Xavier Lanier, founder of Notebooks.com; and Norman Liang from Photobucket (interviews to come next week so be on the look out).
Several of the Intel Insiders were there; although I didn't get a chance to meet with many of them. I did chat for a few minutes with Sarah Austin and Cathy Brooks. Other notable Insiders that attended the party were Irina Slutsky, JD Lasica and Tom Foremski.
