Intel Extreme Masters Global Challenge Kicks Off in Germany at Gamescom

The Intel Extreme Masters Global Challenge will kick off this Thursday, Aug 19th at gamescom in Cologne Germany. The second of Season V’s Global Challenge will host the first major StarCraft II tournament, 16 players will compete for $15,000 in prize money. Quake Live will be the other featured competition in the Global Challenge and with Quake Live coming out of beta status two new maps will join the dual mappool. Competitors can look forward to the addition of Aerowalk and Battleforged maps as they compete for the $10,000 in prize money. While our main focus in Cologne is gamescom and Intel Extreme Masters I’m personally looking forward to visiting the city of Cologne.
