Las Vegas in The Movies: Stream Instantly and Video Titles to Rent or Buy

theater-vitorhirotaWe’re gearing up for the Consumer Electronics Show that starts next week. We have a ton of new content planned so be sure and check back here at Inside Scoop next week for blog coverage of CES 2012.

In the meantime, below are a few movies you might want to stream from Netflix or Amazon, along with a few other movie options to rent or buy — all that have a Las Vegas theme. You never know, you might just need to get in early one night (read: recover before you head out for another night of glitz, guzzling, and gambling).

5 Las Vegas Videos to Watch Instantly from Netflix

1. Modern Marvels: Las Vegas – A History Channel documentary focused on huge architecture of Las Vegas.

2. Terry Fator: Live from Las Vegas – If you’re looking for laughs, try this goofy comedy that features ventriloquism, music, and puppet characters. [also available via Amazon Prime]

3. Breaking Vegas: Prince of Poker – Here’s another History Channel documentary you might enjoy that discusses how people win big and one journalist, Jim McManus, who almost won the big prize in the World Series of Poker.

4. Criss Angel Mindfreak – Want to be amazed by illusions and other magic tricks, but can’t make the live show, then stream episodes from seasons 1-6.

5. Frank Caliendo: All Over the Place – Check out this goofy comedian who impersonates many different celebrities.

5 Las Vegas Videos to Watch Instantly with Amazon Prime

1. Viva Las Vegas – Feeling nostalgic, then watch this 1964 classic featuring Elvis Presley.

2. Vegas Vacation – Chevvy Chase and Randy Quaid star in this 1997 Griswold family adventure.

3. 3000 Miles to Graceland – This comedy features Kurt Russell and Kevin Costner as Elvis impersonators who rob the Rivera Casino. [also available with Netflix streaming]

5. Rat Pack: Live from Las Vegas – Great musical featuring songs originally made popular by Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin

9 Other Las Vegas Movie Options to Rent or Buy

1. Ocean’s Eleven, Twelve or Thirteen or the original Ocean’s 11 and The Ocean’s 11 Story – any of these could be an fun/interesting watch.

2. Celine Dion: Live in Las Vegas: A New Day – You could see Celine live, but if you can’t make a show while you’re in Vegas, this movie may be the next best thing.

3. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas – Catch this cult favorite comedy starring Johnny Depp.

4. Leaving Las Vegas – 1995 hit starring Nicolas Cage and Elizabeth Shue. His character is an alcoholic who falls for her prostitute character.

5. Casino – Who can say no to a movie featuring Robert De Niro Sharon Stone, Joe Pesci and James Wood?

6. Rat Pack – 1998 drama starring Ray Liotta, Joe Mantegna, Don Cheadle, William Petersen, and Angus Macfadyen

7.  Top Chef, Season 1, Part 1 Finale or Top Chef, Season 6, Episode 4– If you’re a foodie, you might like these episodes filmed in Las Vegas.
