Tech Travel Poetry
While everyone around me has been counting down to holiday vacations, I’ve been counting down to my sabbatical! It’s the one Intel employees get every seven years.
I feel lucky that during this time I will get to see my alma mater, University of Oregon Ducks go the BCS National Championship Jan. 10th right near my home in Glendale, Arizona. I will then take three nice trips: Chile, Costa Rica and Mexico.
The rest of the time I hope to spend at the gym, watching Oprah and going to the mall in the middle of the day without the crowds (if I have any money left)! Of course no trip is complete without having some technology to keep in touch and share the journey! I won’t take my laptop as I’m sure Intel IT won’t appreciate it so I have to have something to stay “connected” – see below!
Oh the Places I’ll Go
Wow, it’s been 14 years
So much fun, so many tears
Sabby is here
I have no fear
Bye bye Outlook, meetings and IM chats
I’ve packed my suitcase and my backpack
Have fun friends, I will come back
Truly, that’s no joke, for I’m sure I’ll be broke
And missing my colleagues
And all our interoffice jokes
Where to go?
What to take?
A PC, a laptop, an ipad, a netbook
Maybe just sneakers, shorts, tank and a fishing hook
But I want to post pictures and status updates on Facebook….
Take pictures, send emails and possibly blog…
Check in online and check out the weather…
Will there be fog?
So I think I want something thin, sleek and lightweight
That covers the basics, but not too much freight
The answer I seek is I hope Santa brings me….
Not a bulky PC, but a tiny, shiny netbook just for me!
