Hey. I am buying an Alienware M14X and I am wondering why there is a $200 difference in the price between The i7 3720QM Ivy Bridge and the i7 3820QM Ivy Bridge. Is it worth a $200 dollar difference?

I’m looking to change over from a very fast AMD quad to a chip that better supports the CPU graphics in FSX. I have a super video card but FSX is CPU based. Would Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge, or another product be the better option for FSX?
BTW: I am using multi-gigs of add-on scenery and viewing three screens with an AMD eyefinity video card. I’m looking for a CPU that will let me go with super-high detail without shaky re-frame rates. I don’t have an issue going with 32G of ram, etc. I just want a card that can address it fast enough to be worth the effort.
Don’t bother telling me I need to buy the new “Microsoft Flight.” I’m not interested in forever buying more download apps for a program truly designed for “gamers.” I’m a pilot who has to get his flying fix with FSX or X Plane One because I have a broken neck and can’t get my physical card any longer.
Dear Michael – thanks for posting your question – it is a difficult question to answer with 100% certainty, because many aspects can affect a computers performance, but we did find some information that you may find interesting.
First, here is a YouTube video of someone benchmarking a quad-core processor from AMD: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GErW2eEdT60
According to the video, the person was able to achieve between mid-30s and mid-40s FPS.
In another video using the Intel® Core™ i7-2600K – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IS61CVaQoEI the user claims to get between 60-70 FPS in dense areas and 80-120 FPS everywhere else.
There is also a completely external benchmarking site that you may want to consider to give yourself at least 1 perspective of the relative performance of several processors:

I don’t know exactly what processor you currently have is, but on the “Common” page, the Phenom II branded processors with the X4 designation seems to range between 4,200 and 2,982 (based on an average of an aggregate of submissions).
By comparison, the fairly recent Intel® Core™ i7-3930K Processor (http://ark.intel.com/products/63697) received a 13,585 – which is between 3.2 and 4.6 times better than the range mentioned above, according to this benchmark. But, as I mentioned, many things go into the performance of a computer (please see: http://intel.com/performance for full disclosures & more information) but it would seem to be a safe statement based on some of the information we cite above that upgrading to one of our 3rd Generation Intel Core Processors would likely improve your game play a very noticeable amount.

hello..can i ask something..when the second release date for 17 ivy bridge..because i already search at lowyat kl and this product are running out of stock..
