Ultrabook Project: West Meets West as Mexico City Artist Sego Teams up will.i.am to Create Street Art

Sego on Ultrabook Project

They’ve never met before, but will.i.am and Sego hit it off from the get-go. And just like that, the two of them go into collaboration mode. In the picture above, you can see the outline of Sego’s mural idea on the wall. Sego had his sketchbook open; will.i.am’s had his Ultrabook™ fired up. The crowd buzzed with curiosity.

When you view Sego’s artwork, you’ll notice the repeated use of the Tree of Life and the Third Eye. To Sego, both symbols represent the environment and the care we should show for it. But, his works are far from simple and have multiple interpretations.

Sego is not only an artist, but also an athlete. He descends from a family of professional soccer players. And, if you knew that both his father and grandfather played soccer, you’re more likely to believe this talented artist is also a surfer.

Here’s a great article at Art Asylum Boston where you can read more about Sego, his influences, and more examples of his work, as well as another at Brooklyn Street Art.
