Weekend Gaming – Crysis Prevention
Once again, the weekend is almost here – how do you plan to spend your weekend?
I’ve just started Crysis 2 – this gorgeous shooter is set in New York City after an alien invasion, and so far I’m having a blast. Using the special Nanosuit powers there are a number of ways to tackle each firefight, so I’ve been trying everything out. I’m still a run and gun type of gal, though, so my method of choice is still to just mow down my enemies. I have spent some time sneaking past them with stealth on, though, and taking them down silently. It’s a lot of fun to do this, but I prefer to take them head on. I’m hoping to spend more time with the game this weekend to see what else it has to offer.
My progress with playing my new guitar in Rock Band 3 has been going slowly, but surely. My fingers definitely hurt a lot after a few play sessions; I think that I’m already starting to develop callouses. Most of the beginning lessons just involve getting used to the frets and picking different strings. I’ve also had to practice alternate strumming, which I’ve heard is best to begin early on in playing. I recorded some videos of my first lessons in the game, but I haven’t gotten a chance to upload them yet. I’m hoping to document the whole experience to see if a video game really can teach me how to play an instrument.
With Garden Dash behind me, I’ve started a new PlayFirst title – Hotel Dash: Suite Success. I love this style of game, and I really can’t get enough. If you’ve never tried one of these games, they usually offer a 60 minute free trial to get you started. Don’t say I didn’t warn you though – you just might get hooked like I did!
I am also looking forward to picking up my Nintendo 3DS this Sunday as well. This is the first handheld device with a glasses-less 3D screen. I’ve seen it in action, and it totally works. I’ve been playing Pokemon Black on my regular Nintendo DS for the past few weeks so I will continue to play that, but I am also excited to play Nintendogs + Cats too. The device can also take 3D pictures, and will eventually allow 3D video recording. I really can’t wait for mine – I preordered it in Aqua Blue (pictured above).
It’s another weekend full of gaming for me… what will you be playing?

Excellent game! I walked half of the game, very happy!
